My Home Group raises awareness and donates during October Breast Cancer Awareness Month
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and My Home Group was all pink on social media to raise awareness about the disease that claims roughly 43,000 lives a year.
During the month of October MHG changed their social media profiles to a pink logo and also organized a social-media-driven fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for breast-cancer research. The brokerage asked their followers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to engage with their pink-inspired graphic and the brokerage would sponsor a dollar for each like, comment and share the post received. In total, the brokerage contributed $500 to the Susan G. Komen organization that was later matched by Susan G. Komen partners to be a $1,000 donation to breast cancer research.
Founded in the 1980s the Susan G. Komen organization stated that “1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime”. The organization has a mission to end that statistic by being “the ONLY organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease”.
My Home Group owners Mark Hutchins and Jereme Kleven value the community and put an emphasis on doing their best to support charitable causes whenever possible, on behalf of the brokerage.
“We are always looking for ways to help the community and are honored to be able to have a small part in what we hope will be a lasting impact on changing the outcome for those affected by this terrible disease. My Home Group is thankful to our staff, agents, friends and family for helping us spread awareness as we hope to be one-step closer to a world without breast cancer,” said Kleven.
